U3A is for people who have completed their working lives but wish to continue to learn and broaden their horizons.
"Learning for the joy of learning"
U3A offers academic and skills subjects, arts and crafts and social activities. Classes are conducted in various venues on the Sunshine Coast. The year is divided into four terms, similar to school terms.
There are no examinations, For an annual membership fee members can attend as many classes/activities as they wish. Note: Some classes may have a waiting list, and some classes may be in venues that require a contribution from the members.

SCIENCE AND THE HUMANITIES: A series of 2 hour talks held each week. The speaker and topic change every two weeks. Term topics are listed in the newsletter. Lectures are held in the following locations: U3A Lecture Room, Caloundra, Coolum, Maleny and Nambour.
SOCIAL: Throughout the year various social activities are organised. These have included day trips to the theatre, restaurants and long, group tours.
DINE OUT GROUPS: There are two Dine-Out evening groups, meeting each month to wine, dine and enjoy the cuisine of the many Sunshine Coast Restaurants.
HEALTH, FITNESS & SPORTS: Groups include: aquacise, walking, swimming social and swimming coaching, gentle stretching exercise, gym fitness, Tai Chi, Yoga, croquet, golf, lawn bowls, table tennis and badminton.
U3A has a close relationship with the University
of the Sunshine Coast and members are permitted to "sit-in"
on lectures at the University.
